God bless the Central North-American Republic

As a current resident of Minnesota, USA, I’m a bit saddened to learn that in 2010, the USA will collapse and a bloc of Midwestern states will form the Central North-American Republic. At least, that’s according to Russian professor Igor Panarin:

Mr. Panarin posits, in brief, that mass immigration, economic decline, and moral degradation will trigger a civil war next fall and the collapse of the dollar. Around the end of June 2010, or early July, he says, the U.S. will break into six pieces — with Alaska reverting to Russian control.

Bummer. At least there’s some good news, though: Minnesotans will fall under the influence of Canada. States like California and Texas won’t be nearly as lucky; they’ll go to China and Mexico, respectively.

I feel pretty comfortable predicting that this won’t happen. Sure, I don’t have access to Panarin’s classified data, but it seems our nation has survived worse circumstances than what’s in store for us next year. And of course, even if  I’m wrong, everyone will have bigger problems than digging up my old blog post anyway.
